I was shaken with the way he moved on all fours in the galleries of the college, people knowingly, unknowingly or knowingly- unknowingly either didn¿t pay attention to his plight or were not aware how they could contribute in improving the situation. I felt embarrassed, ashamed and even helpless all at one go! This sudden encounter changed the course of my research and setting apart my research on human rights of children and especially of girl child I moved on to studying human rights of physically challenged people in India. Phil, Ph.D. , post- doctoral( UGC) and senior fellowships (ICSSR).
