About the Author
Roger E. Schultz, M.D., FACS, is a urologist in private practice with Hampton Roads Urology (a division of Riverside Medical Group) in Williamsburg, Virginia. He is a native of New Jersey and a graduate of Tulane University. He received his medical degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York and completed his residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Before entering private practice, he served as staff urologist at the Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, Virginia. Dr. Schultz has been in private practice since 1989. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, served as Chief of Staff at Williamsburg Community Hospital and is a former President of the Tidewater and the Virginia Urological Societies. He has also been President of the Mid-Atlantic Section of the American Urology Association. He continues to serve on national committees of the American Urological Association. Dr. Schultz lives in Williamsburg with his wife Beth Scharlop, M.D. They have two children, Alison and Sam. Dr. Schultz is a clarinetist with the Bagels and Fraylox Klezmer Band. Alex W. Oliver has more than twenty years executive experience with businesses and non-profit organizations, including managing the Chesapeake Division of the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce, the Hampton Roads Utility Contractors Association and the Hermitage Foundation Museum. He recently began a consultant practice and works with non-profit organizations and businesses in the Williamsburg area on both long and short term management projects. Some of his recent and current clients include BP America, Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center and Port Warwick Merchants Association. He and his wife Libbey live in Williamsburg with their two cats, Dandy and Duchess.
