The Known World commenced life as Buninyong Books in the historic township of Buninyong in 2001. In 2008 we moved to Ballarat and adopted our new name, The Known World Bookshop. Following eight years' trading in Ballarat, we enjoyed a short country idyll in the beautiful (but quiet!) township of Linton. Now we've returned to Ballarat, where you'll find us in an 1880s building in the heart of the antiques and cafe hub of historic Main Rd. At The Known World Bookshop we take pride in our collection of books and the service we offer our customers. All of your enquiries will be answered promptly, and books dispatched speedily (in most instances, the following weekday morning, if orders are received before 4pm). Postage is extra. Insurance is not included unless requested. I take pride in
providing accurate descriptions of books' condition - don't be alarmed by
lengthy descriptions of a book's imperfections - it can take an entire sentence
to describe a small chip or tear. I find honest and accurate descriptions result
in satisfied customers, who often receive a pleasant surprise when they receive
