Humble Influence: The Strength of True Followership

Why do we celebrate leaders so often, yet rarely acknowledge the followers who make their success possible? Followership isn’t about passively “doing what you’re told.” It’s an active, intentional role that demands discipline, critical thinking, and emotional intelligence. Great followership is as much a skill as great leadership. Tyranny, dysfunction, and failure often result when leaders lack the humility and empathy developed through followership. This book is about changing that narrative.

Jim Matuga has spent decades observing how great followership supports great leadership. You’ll discover the principles of effective followership drawn from history; biblical wisdom, and real-world examples. You’ll learn how to align with your purpose, cultivate trust, and take initiative in ways that elevate your leader, your team, and yourself through the true strength of followership: humble influence.
