Humility of the Saints (Paperback)

Every saint — from the greatest thinker to the commonest servant — has walked the same narrow road: the path of humility. It is the foundation of every virtue and the key to sanctity.

Drawing inspiration from the profound Litany of Humility, Catholic author Patrick O’Hearn unveils the hidden wisdom behind this powerful prayer and shows you how to live it.

In Humility of the Saints, O’Hearn illuminates each line of Cardinal Rafael Merry del Val’s famous litany through the words and lives of fifty-five holy souls — men and women from many vocations who chose the lowly path for the love of God: St. Thérèse of Lisieux and her parents, Sts. Louis and Zélie Martin; St. Francis of Assisi; St. Elizabeth Ann Seton; St. Martin de Porres; St. Maximilian Kolbe; St. Carlo Acutis; St. Pier Giorgio Frassati; the Fatima children; and many more.

Their stories reveal that humility is strength rather than weakness. It is the pinnacle virtue that conquers pride and sets the soul free.

In these pages, you will learn:

• Practical ways to imitate Christ’s humility in thought, word, and action
• Why the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus is the model and source of all humility
• How Our Lady’s humility confounds the enemy and wins souls for her Son
• Methods from the saints for overcoming pride and embracing hiddenness

• How suffering, ridicule, and temptation can become your training ground for sanctity

This treasury also includes prayers, spiritual reflections, and the saints’ most profound insights on the virtue that made Heaven possible for them — and will for you.

A powerful antidote to our age of pride, noise, and self-promotion, Humility of the Saints is a timeless guide to authentic holiness. It will challenge and console you, convict and inspire you, and, above all, remind you that to be humble is to be Christlike, and to be Christlike is to become a saint.
