The Hungry Sun: Tales of Unsettling Futures

What would you surrender to survive the future—your body, your memories, or the freedom to choose?

A man demands the return of a bodily function that a perfect society has abolished. Dogs turn their former masters into pets. Rented eyes promise access to the universe, while a household robot becomes indispensable in ways its owner never intended. Beneath a sun devouring their world, humanity’s last survivors listen for something beyond the noise.

In eighteen science-fiction stories, Pedro RFT explores futures where care becomes control, emotions become evidence, and survival comes with conditions no one thought to question.

Dark humor, body horror, and intimate human conflicts run through worlds of artificial intelligence, genetic transformation, alien encounters, and ecological collapse. Some characters resist. Others negotiate, obey, or discover how easily they can become accomplices.

The Hungry Sun is a collection for readers drawn to disturbing possibilities, morally complicated choices, and the fragile boundary between remaining alive and remaining yourself.

The future offers answers. These stories ask what they cost.
