Designed before the onset of World War II, this fast and maneuverable fighter became the backbone of the RAF's Fighter Command during the Battle of Britain. The Hawker Hurricane won the majority of the aerial victories that gave the RAF the edge over the German Luftwaffe in the crucial days of 1940. Hurricane puts you in the cockpit and behind the stick of this famous RAF airplane.
Ron Dick served with the Royal Air Force for 38 years. His final assignment was as Defense Attaché and Head of the British Defense staff in the United States. He retired in 1988 in the rank of Air Vice-Marshal. During his career, he flew 60 different types of aircraft while compiling over 5,000 hours of flight time.
Since 1988 pilot-photographer Dan Patterson has published ten books. His Cockpit: An Illustrated History of World War II Aircraft Interiors, with Donald Nijboer, published in 1998 by Boston Mills Press has been translated into German and Japanese.
