About the Author

Ron Dick served with the Royal Air Force for 38 years. His final assignment was as Defense Attach� and Head of the British Defense staff in the United States. He retired in 1988 in the rank of Air Vice-Marshal. During his career, he flew 60 different types of aircraft while compiling over 5,000 hours of flight time.

Since 1988 pilot-photographer Dan Patterson has published ten books. His Cockpit: An Illustrated History of World War II Aircraft Interiors, with Donald Nijboer, published in 1998 by Boston Mills Press has been translated into German and Japanese.
