The mutual influences between music and art will be illustrated with examples by Albert Oehlen and Scooter, Thomas Scheibitz and the Melvins, as well as Daniel Blumberg. Photographs and video works by Andrea Stappert, Sven Marquardt, Andreas Gursky, The KLF, Mark Leckey, and Bettina Pousttchi will lend the book a documentary dimension. The book is narratively underpinned by numerous background interviews that Max Dax conducted with the participants in HYPER! over the past thirty years. About the Author

Max Dax was editor-in-chief from 2007 to 2010 of Spex, a famous German music magazine, well known in the scene as the organ of the punk and new wave scenes. Dirk Luckow has been the General Director of the Deichtorhallen Hamburg since 2009. He graduated in 1996 with a dissertation on Joseph Beuys and the American Anti-Form-Art. Luckow has since worked at the Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen in Düsseldorf, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York, and the Württembergische Kunstverein in Stuttgart. He also worked as project manager for visual arts at the Siemens Arts Program in Munich, before he became Director of the Kunsthalle zu Kiel from 2002 to 2009. From 2007 to 2009 he was a member of the Artistic Advisory Board of the Temporäre Kunsthalle in Berlin. In 2016, Luckow received an honorary professorship at Hochschule für bildende Künste Hamburg.
