About this Item

Includes cardboard slipcase. Drawing text in Chinese and English. Liang Sicheng's *Illustrated History of Chinese Architecture* is not only a feast for the eyes but also an illustrated explanation of the secrets of ancient Chinese architecture. This album contains fifty-nine hand-drawn architectural drawings from Liang Sicheng's *Illustrated History of Chinese Architecture*, completed in Lizhuang, Sichuan in 1946. It features bilingual (Chinese and English) explanations, rich illustrations, and abundant information. The library has reproduced the drawings with satisfactory clarity and fidelity. These hand-drawn drawings, on the one hand, adhere to Western architectural drafting methods and the inherent Western classical aesthetic spirit; on the other hand, they creatively incorporate traditional Chinese meticulous brushwork and line drawing techniques, better presenting the unique beauty of ancient Chinese architecture. ; Folio 13" - 23" tall; Unpaginated pages; Extra postage required for priority and international shipping.
