Three-quarter black leather binding, marbled paper-covered boards. Four issues bound together: 1860 (68 pages), 1861 (68 pages), 1862 (62 pages), 1863 (63 pages). Each of the four issues has six full-page color plates, each with a theme (see attached photos): 1860 is "Insects and Butterflies," 1861 is "Fruit of the Season," 1862 is "Domestic Animals," and finally 1863 is "Wild Flowers." In addition to these 24 color plates, there are numerous full-page tinted astronomical plates plus numerous black and white woodcuts as well. Very good condition, one rubbed spot on the front board, minor occasional foxing to some of the plates. Seller Inventory # 021949
