12mo, 7.25 in. x 4.75 in., pp. 227. Illustrated with woodcut frontis of The Battle of Vinegar Hill. Contemporary full calf with gilt title on black panel, and gilt bandlines, to spine. Worn, soiled boards with several small chips. Bit of worming to front cover, pastedowns, and preliminary pages (does not affect pages with text). Light spotting throughout. Age-toning to pages. Spine and hinges tight. The author offer his remarks on pp. 5-20 and pp. 203-227. The rest of the book is a series of often lengthy letters written by witnesses offering first hand accounts of the rebellion. Includes an account of the French invasion. Second Edition, with Additions and Corrections.
