1358pp. 37x24cms. [15x 11 inches]. A massive two volume set complete with finely engraved full page plates and beautifully printed text. Both volumes have frontis. plates after John Martin and seven engraved illustrated title-pages. Seven other full page plates after John Martin bound within. Original high quality mid-Victorian full polished calf in the medieval style with blind-stamped corner decoration within blind border frames and gilt titles to the spines within five raised bands. Original yellow end-papers but with evidence of original bookplates now removed on both front board inners. The family register page is at the rear of volume one and blank. No binders stamp or ticket but a fine example.
