Complete set of 6 Voluumes. In contemporary Brown Cloth Bindings with Bright Gilt profile medallions of Queen Victoria surrounded by Bright Gilt Lettering and Decoration and Blind embossed decorative borders on fronts. Gilt Lettering and designs with Crowns at the top on spines. Each Volume has Maps & Engraved Views (Printed on one side of the paper and protected by tissue guards) before the text, which is arranged in double columns ( e.g. Vol I has a Frontis illustrated with a Coloured Chart of the Bristol Channel. Following the title page are; a Double Page Plan of London, Metropolitan Burghs and Southern and Eastern Environs and a Double Page Plan of the Town & Burgh of Liverpool with Birkenhead. Vol II has a Plan of Hull for the Frontis and an Engraved view of Liverpool ( byJ. C.Brown), Coloured Maps of the Channel Islands, and a Double Page Plan of Leeds. Other volumes similar. Paginated as a series, the 6 Volumes contain 1197 Printed Pages, 25 Pages of Maps and 2 Engraved Views. 11 1/2" Tall. Slight edge wear to cloth. Vol I has 4 tiny tears to cloth at sides of spine and Vol II has 2 closed tears, 2" long and 1" long on right side. No inscriptions. Only a very occasional small spot of foxing, pages & Maps in very good, clean condition. Set weighs 10.5 Kilos so Shipping outside UK will be extra.
