INSIGHTs on Exercise combines the unique expertise of a prominent exercise physiologist, two psychologists, and a medical doctor, respectively, to provide first-time exercisers with information concerning how they can make informed choices regarding their health and how to start their exercise program safely. Author 1: Jason Conviser
Jason Conviser is president of JMC & Associates and is one of the nation s experts in articulating the opportunity where the traditional health care continuum and health care services are expanded and offered in the health club setting. Throughout his career, he has lectured and written about the relationship between exercise and health. Dr. Conviser holds a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, an MBA from Northwestern University, and is a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine.

Author 2: Jenny Conviser
Jenny Conviser is a psychologist who specializes in eating disorders, sport psychology, and women s issues. Dr. Conviser is an assistant professor of psychology in the Medical School of Northwestern University and is on the staff of Northwestern Memorial Hospital.She holds a Psy.D. from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology and a master s degree in exercise physiology from Northern Illinois University, and has completed an internship in the behavioral medicine program of the University of Chicago Hospitals. Dr. Conviser is also a Certified Sport Psychologist.

Author 3: Susan Foti McClanahan
Susan Foti McClanahan, Ph.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in the treatment of eating disorders and weight management. Dr. McClanahan is the co-founder and co-director of Insight Psychological Centers, LLC and CORE, LLC. She is a nationally recognized expert, leader, and teacher in her field. Dr. McClanahan is on faculty at Northwestern University Medical School.

Author 4: William Ciganek
William Ciganek, MD, is the medical director for COREsolutions. He is also a board-certified psychiatrist on staff at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and a clinical instructor at the Feinberg School of Medicine of Northwestern University. Dr. Ciganek has collaborated with Drs. Conviser and McClanahan in the treatment of eating disorders and weight disorders since his residency at Northwestern and has served as a consultant to the Insight Center for Eating Disorders since its inception in 2003.
