INTEROCCLUSAL RELATIONS AND RECORDS: Learning Occlusal Records Through Concepts

It explores the principles and clinical importance of accurately recording interocclusal relations—the spatial relationship between the upper and lower jaws. It covers key concepts like centric relation (CR) and centric occlusion (CO), and describes the role of TMJ anatomy, muscles, and mandibular movements. Various recording techniques and materials (e.g., waxes, ZOE, elastomers) are evaluated for their precision. Literature highlights the need for reproducible and functional CR, especially in prosthodontics, dentures, and implant cases. The study emphasizes careful technique selection and operator skill for optimal outcomes in dental restorations.
