Autograph letter signed, one page. 17.7 � 11.4 cm. A politically interesting letter from the 8th Duke of Argyll referring explicitly to the "Tipperary Trials", one of the major Irish legal and political controversies arising from the Plan of Campaign, New Tipperary and late Victorian land agitation. Argyll states that he has already expressed his opinions on the matter and refers to the government "endeavouring to protect the liberty of the subject." Folded as sent. Very good condition overall.
