ISEB Common Pre-Tests Maths - Skills & Practice: 11+ Practice Questions with Fully Explained Answers for Years 5–6 (Ages 9–11): Number, Fractions, Measurement, Geometry, Data & Worded Problems

Multiple-choice maths is a different game. Estimate first, eliminate the impossible, work backwards from the options – this book teaches the strategy, then covers every topic to the end of Year 5.

The 40-minute ISEB Maths section is online, adaptive and entirely multiple-choice, with no calculator and rough paper allowed. Its content is the National Curriculum to the end of Year 5 – but the adaptive ramp serves strong children harder material, so this book badges its Stretch questions "Beyond Year 5" and includes them deliberately.

What's inside

• 19 chapters across Number, Fractions–Decimals–Percentages, Patterns, Measurement, Geometry, Statistics and Problem Solving: place value, the four operations, factors and primes, fractions, decimals, percentages, ratio, sequences, units, perimeter–area–volume, time, money, shapes and angles, 3D shapes, coordinates, data and worded problems
• Answer-option strategy taught as a core method: estimate, eliminate impossible magnitudes, test the options
• Around 650 questions banded Foundation, Secure or Stretch, every answer fully explained including the distractor that comes from doing only step one of a two-step problem
• A taught method for worded problems (Read, Underline, Choose, Solve, Check) with one-step to multi-step progression
• On-screen formats covered: unlabelled scales, line graphs read between points, angles estimated rather than measured
• 60 mixed questions in ramping waves, then two 40-minute mini mocks with score grids
• A daily two-minute times-tables programme and a key-facts sheet to stick on the fridge
