About the Author

Frank Tuohy (1925-1999) was a novelist and short story writer who worked for the British Council in a number of academic posts abroad, including Krakow, Poland. The Ice Saints, his third novel, won the Geoffrey Faber Memorial Prize and James Tait Black Prize. Neal Ascherson is a journalist the author of Black Sea and Stone Voices.
