To Have an Identity (The Era of Greatness)

America is gone. Five centuries after the rise of Harold Vict, only his family counts as human. Others are grown solely in laboratories on Vict demand, to live without rights. Kairo, a genetically engineered experimental subject educated with propaganda, does not possess an identity of his own. He was genetically designed by Evelyn Vict, who has spent centuries surrendering her own identity to serve her father. Together, Kairo and Evelyn struggle with a society shaped around the ego of Harold, who relies on artificial intelligence to remake America into a small audience that must applaud and praise him, on penalty of death.

To Have an Identity is an intimate dystopian novel that is part philosophical exploration, part psychological character study, examining humanity, dignity, and freedom in a society shaped by genocide to serve a malignant narcissist.
