Igdrasil: Or The Tree Of Existence (1859)

""Igdrasil: Or The Tree Of Existence"" is a philosophical and spiritual treatise written by James Challen and published in 1859. The book explores the concept of the ancient Norse mythological tree, Yggdrasil, which is believed to be the axis mundi or the center of the world. Challen delves into the symbolism and meaning behind the tree, and its significance in various cultures throughout history. He also draws parallels between Yggdrasil and other religious and philosophical concepts, such as the Tree of Life in Kabbalah and the Bodhi Tree in Buddhism. The book is divided into three parts, with the first part discussing the mythological origins of Yggdrasil, the second part exploring its symbolism and meaning, and the third part examining its relevance in contemporary society. ""Igdrasil: Or The Tree Of Existence"" is a thought-provoking and insightful exploration of a timeless symbol that continues to fascinate and inspire people to this day. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
