Blue cloth, elaborately decorated on cover with embossed geometric and botanical borders in black and brown, with gilt title and author. Similar treatment on tanned spine. No date, but author name and date of 1885 in ink on half title page, with owner sticker on front glued down endpaper. Routledge Excelsior Series. Back cover is embossed in the same design as the front, without the added color. Some wear to spine tips, starting at bottom gutter of half title page. Some dog ears. All in all a very nice copy of this antique edition. 526 pp., followed by a list of other Routledge titles.
