Illumination Rounds

FWA 2006 Book of the Year Winner, these short stories present a graphic portrayal of American soldiers and marines who served in Vietnam. Both authors draw from personal experiences, blending fact and fiction into captivating before, during and after pictures of the men who fought. Their writing styles complement each other to capture the tragedy, humor and perspective of the young men in that controversial conflict. These stories ring true not only for the Vietnamese combatants, but for all warriors in battles past and present.

Peter Guinta served with the US Marines in VN 1967-69. He is senior writer for the St. Augustine Record. In 2004 he spent a month embedded with the 124th Infantry Regiment in Iraq. He resides in St. Augustine with his wife Lynn. Randy Cribbs served with the 11th Armored Calvary Regiment in VN 1966-67. A native Floridian, he returned to his old fascination St. Augustine after 30 years of traveling the world as a US Army officer. He resides in St. Augustine on the banks of the St. Johns River where he teaches and writes.
