Original 1/4 leather with gilt-stamped vellum and small embroidered insert in front cover with metal clasp. Front board detached. AEG. 108 pp., interleaved with blank pages for notationes. The pages all have small color depictions of a biblical phrase. Most pages have four such illustrations, though some have only 3, depending on the month. In all, there are 365 such illustrations. A most interesting and colorful little notebook, published by Frederick Warne in London and co-published by Scribner, Welford and Armstrong of New York. The Preface is dated April, 1873.
