Illustrated handbill promoting an exhibit hosted by the National Academy of Design in New York of artwork by "The Oregon Artist", Eliza R. Barchus. The verso reproduces artwork by Barchus of Mount Hood and Multnomah Falls with accompanying poetry also by her, as well as an additional poem titled "At the End of the West". The seal of the Al Kader Shriners (Portland, Oregon) is also featured on the verso. Eliza Rosanna Lamb Barchus (1857-1959) was a successful landscape oil painter based in Portland, Oregon. She traveled extensively throughout the American West, earning income through sales of her original paintings as well as postcard reproductions. Barchus won a gold medal for her work at the Lewis and Clark Centennial Exposition in Portland, and was the featured artist in several large-scale exhibitions. Good. Letter folds, wear, and minor staining/toning.
