Boston: A. M. Thayer & Co., 1891. Hard to find children's book offering a history of the United States depicted as romanticized poetry, illlustrated mainly with engravings. Externally poor, internally pretty good. Illustrated hardcover with red cloth spine, 156 pages. Covers detached and spine covering effectively useless, covers heavily rubbed and spotted, darkening to endpapers, binding basically sound, pages a bit age-yellowed but mainly clean, child's sketch with a teepee and an American flag on the rear endpaper, bookplate on front free endpaper, gift notation on reverse side of frontis, no other markings. Hard Cover. Poor. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
