About the Author
John Russ is a retired professor with 50+ years experience in imaging using a wide range of optical and other instruments for technical, scientific and forensic purposes. His particular interests involve the processing and analysis of the resulting images in order to extract information useful for characterizing quantifying, classifying, and identifying the objects and structures represented. The application of these techniques ranges from the microscopic to the astronomical, and includes the structures of engineering and textile materials, imaging of biological and medical images, forensic imagery, and more.
