Imaging: Think Your Way to Success in Sports and Classroom

Explains techniques for developing a positive attitude and for visualizing success in such phases of life as sports, the classroom, public speaking, weight control, and social situations

Grade 7-12 This simple and clearly written book gives a positive approach to controlling fears, anxieties, and behavior patterns by using mental imagery. This process is used to build confidence and to control muscle and body responses in order to achieve desired goals. Research, psychological influences, internal body responses, and examples are included along with step-by-step processes of incorporating mental imagery into one's personal life. Most books on this topic describe the processes and influences, but seldom identify means of practical application. The book is entertaining, informative, and provides involvement through self-analysis tests. Clear use in sports, academics, social situations, and weight control is given. A pleasant, positive, and easy reading self-improvement book. Janice C. Hayes, Middle Tennessee State University, Murfreesboro
