Groups of immortals, known as Prides, battle the forces of darkness in the anticipation of the Sanguinary's rebirth. The Prides are also in a constant struggle to out perform each other to gain Visage (rank in the immortal world). Immortals, besides having super human abilities, can also shape-shift into their true form, which could be anything from animal, plant, or shadow. The main setting of the game is modern day Earth but pocket universes, known as Mantles, also exist. A dreamworld known as the Morpheum is where spies and assassins combat those brave enough to dream. The Blue Air, the Dominions, Sheol, the Underworld, Ys, and the Maelstrom are other dimensions of danger and exploration.
