Immunology. An Outline of Basic Principles, Problems and Theories Concerning the Immunolgical Behavious of Man and Animals.

Immunology is traditionally a part of professional courses in Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Science and Agriculture. The ever-widening influence of immunological concepts on biological thinking is reflected in its inclusion in many scientific disciplines. These include microbology, biology, biochemstry, genetics, pharmacology and physiology. Professor Gray has produced in concise coverage a reasonably comprehensive outline of the fundamental principles of immunology and serology. He has highlighted current theories and research in antibody production, cell-mediated immunity, immunological tolerance and surgical transplantation. Although the subject is dealt with primarily from the point of view of the mammalian reponse to infectious disease, it is adaptable to undergraduate teaching in all scientific disciplines. It should also prove useful for graduate students or research workers whose interests lie in the direction of biosynthesis. Slight shelf wear to D/J.
