The Impact of Trade Protectionism on Multinational Companies: The Relevance of a Predictive Study in a Global Tariff Escalation Scenario

This work is the conversion of Diogo Ricardo Martins Balestra's Master's Dissertation-Concept A, MUST UNIVERSITY FLORIDA, which focuses on the IMPACT OF TRADE PROTECTIONISM ON MULTINATIONAL COMPANIES. Defended in June 2024, the research used hypothetical-deductive methodology and case studies to analyze how tariff and non-tariff barriers affect the financial results, competitiveness and global expansion of multinationals. The central result is unequivocal: protectionism has a negative impact, requiring re-engineering of supply chains and new advocacy strategies. What was a predictive study in 2024 becomes a technical manual in 2025.
