From 1899 to 1905, he served as the principal of the Muhammadan Anglo-Oriental College, and from 1906 onwards, he held a position on the Council of India. Additionally, Morison served as the principal of the College of Sciences at Durham University from 1919 to 1929 and also held the principalship of Armstrong College. Notably, he served as the Vice Chancellor of Durham University from 1924 to 1926.
