Synopsis

This research looks at the process of implementation of the Directive 2007/66/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 December 2007 amending Council Directives 89/665/EEC and 92/13/EEC with regard to improving the effectiveness of review procedures concerning the award of public contracts (hereinafter ? the Remedies Directive) in Latvia taking into account the existing legislative framework. The author is analyzing the possible institutional solutions and concludes that the general impact of the implementation of the requirements of the Remedies Directive will be positive both in the European Union and national level.
