This book is an attempt to understand the fundamentals and basics of organic reactive intermediates, reaction mechanism, name reaction and their applications in organic synthesis. There are about twenty-nine basic organic reactions and six reactive intermediates to understand the concepts of organic synthesis. It is specially designed for teaching and practicing the synthetic organic chemistry for the under graduate and post graduate students of science (chemistry). This book does not contain too much theory and description as the main target is practice of number of various kinds of reactive intermediates and reaction mechanism in organic chemistry and their various applications which are repeatedly asked in competitive exams like NET, GATE, GSET, GPSC, etc. This book also contains some applications from recent research articles and literature survey. Chiral target molecules and examples of natural product are selected either to demonstrate the practicability of certain asymmetric syntheses in non-catalytic and catalytic mode, on the laboratory and industrial scale in the form of applications.
