The Impossible Resort (Paperback)

Paperback. Every impossible adventure begins with an even more impossible idea. What if Maxi, Laxi, Paxi, and Raxi created the world's most extraordinary resort? What if visitors could ski on a snow-covered mountain, stroll through a spring meadow, relax beneath a tropical sun, and explore a mysterious swamp-all without leaving the same island? And what if the boys became so busy improving their remarkable creation that they failed to notice the island beneath them was beginning to sink? Those questions became the beginning of The Impossible Resort. The Maxi Boys have already learned that a brilliant idea can carry them farther than they ever imagined. Yet they have not entirely learned when to stop. Their creativity, confidence, and determination allow them to accomplish what everyone else considers impossible. But every success encourages them to add one more attraction, solve one more problem, and take one more risk.Soon, their magnificent resort begins to behave in ways no one expected. Meadows flood, alligators appear where they do not belong, a snow-covered mountain threatens to unleash an avalanche, and mysterious officials begin watching the boys more closely than they realize. As the dangers multiply, Maxi and his friends must depend upon their ingenuity-and one another-to save their guests and discover what is happening to their island.Like all the Maxi Boys' adventures, this story celebrates imagination while allowing the consequences of ambition to unfold naturally. The boys learn that nature does not always cooperate with even the cleverest plans, that warning signs should not be ignored, and that success can become dangerous when enthusiasm races ahead of good judgment. Most of all, The Impossible Resort is a story about refusing to give up. Even when their grandest dream begins sinking beneath their feet, Maxi, Laxi, Paxi, and Raxi remain what they have always been: inventive, loyal, optimistic, and ready to turn disaster into their next remarkable idea.So come along to an island where every season has its own attraction, every attraction creates a new surprise, and nothing remains impossible for very long.Just don't be too surprised if your dream vacation becomes an unforgettable adventure. When a group of ambitious friends builds a fantastical getaway featuring every climate imaginable, their boundless creativity triggers a series of environmental disasters that threaten to swallow their dream whole.
