Imposters

IMPOSTERS contains twenty-one essays, all built—some of them very loosely—around a single theme: artificial flies. Each essay includes an opening art piece and illustrations of the flies with detailed recipes for tying them. Skip Morris's lifetime of colorful fly-fishing experience fuels these compelling accounts that blend storytelling, insight, fly-fishing history, and fishing instruction.

Skip Morris is a professional fly-fishing writer and the author of nineteen fly-fishing books. He received a Lifetime Achievement award from Fly Tyer magazine in 2014 and the Fly Tying Hall of Fame award from the Washington State Council of Fly Fishers International in 2023. Skip lives with his wife, Carol Ann Morris, and their cat, Olive Penderghast, on Washington State’s Olympic Peninsula.

Carol Ann Morris is a nature artist and photographer whose work has appeared in publications such as Gray’s Sporting Journal, Fly Fisherman, and Big Sky Journal.
