A Creative Mind Can Overcome Mental Illness
Can you imagine being considered one of the top cartoonists for Walt Disney for their first 80 minute animated cartoon film in history, for the movie"Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs", in 1935, and giving all this up to have your own show on National TV in Hollywood?
Imagine having five nervous breakdowns in between!
Imagine having schizophrenia on top of that!
This is a true story of the life of Tony D'Orazi who went through all of the above...and then some.
Along his ascent, he would also meet his true love, whom he formed a vaudeville act with, which found them entertaining crowds across America in 1938.
From there , he became a father of four, and constantly struggled to find balance between his roles as a visual artist and a family man, all while battling severe bouts of mental illness, and having 37 shock treatments in between.
Tony's personal struggles would repeatedly attempt to derail his artistic ambitions, but the art would always find a way to persevere.
Ultimately, his story proves that no matter what obstacles he faced, his art always found a way.
