In-Process Measurement and Control (Manufacturing Engineering and Materials Processing)

This book attempts to encompass in-process measurement and control holistically as opposed to dealing with the bits and pieces. It discusses various types of sensors and strategies for using the data derived from the sensors in a closed-loop feedback arrangement.

Stephan D. Murphy is Engineering Manager for TEXTRON Inc., Danville, Pennsylvania, where he is responsible for CAD/CAM, automation projects, and manufacturing engineering of blades and vanes for aircraft gas turbines. Mr. Murphy is the author of numerous articles and reports on manufacturing technology and holds two U.S. patents. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and American Association for the Advancement of Science. Mr. Murphy received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio.
