Imagine your students becoming independent sight-readers! This book provides a systematic process for improving the following: sight-singing skills, integration of visual, auditory and kinesthetic learning styles in reading music, and overall musicianship. The learning strategies which accompany the melodies presented in this text incorporate all senses through multisensory learning. These ideas give direction to the learner and the teacher in developing the necessary musical skills and confidence to sight-sing in a manner which includes musical accuracy while encouraging good vocal technique. Using this type of consistent, thoughtful organization of concepts, students can learn to be secure in their abilities as music readers, as well as becoming insightful singers.

Insight Singing took my students to the next level in their sight reading skills. The sequential manner in which the book is written helped them progress in a logical , yet challenging way. This is the perfect book for singers who are ready to advance their sight reading skills. --Amy Allibon, Choir Director, Birdville High School

I ordered a set of 80 of the InSight Singing books this spring. The book is well paced and challenging. My students find the warm-up page for each key very helpful. The keyboard, the scale on the staff both in treble and bass clefs, the chordal progression and drill are a great for establishing the key and for prepping the exercises. We have also found that these exercises provide a fantastic variety of interval training while keeping the high school singers vocal range a priority. The use of pitches in octaves in the melodic line also helps tremendously. The extra instruction for the melodies challenges my students to problem-solve faster and more efficiently. From singing the example backwards or in duet with another example to singing on a neutral vowel instead of solfege syllables provide extra incentives for higher levels of musicianship and achievement. Thank you for the addition of the appendix. I especially refer to the keyboard on the last page on a daily basis. I hope the next volume includes a little bit more theory.
