First edition, 1882. Tightly bound in dark green cloth with gold titles, marbled text block and endpapers. Minor edge and shelf wear to covers. Light aging and some spots to a few pages. Includes numerous illustrations of maps of major European cities, floor plans of museums and art work. This copy is from a 19th Century private lending institution, the Mercantile Library of New York (Astor Place). The Mercantile Library stamp is on the title page and some of the internal pages. There are no other indications of the library's ownership.
