Very good, single-hole punched to the top left corner with minimal impact on content, tanned. This is undated, but there is reference in the text to a service that started in February 1942 (p8), and coverage of Malayan and Burma Evacuees places it after the Japanese invasion in 1941/2. With India contributing hugely to the British war effort, the British Indian Government established The National War Front during WW2 to circulate propaganda to the local population to ensure their continuing support. This booklet was presumably issued for the benefit of the colleagues, families and friends of Indian troops serving abroad, as well as for the Rulers of the Indian states from which those troops were sent. In 3 parts, Part One details procedures for letters and parcels for personnel on field service, including those overseas, those about to go overseas, gifts, the Special Telegraph Service, Fieldservice Telegrams, letters and telegrams to naval addresses, postal concessions to British Troops, the Airgraph Service to the UK, Air Letter Card Service to the UK, information about missing persons, casualties, and messages to and from missing persons. Part Two covers channels of communication with POWs and Internees in Italy, Germany, Japan, unknown countries, the Middle East, civilians in enemy or enemy occupied countries (the Thomas Cook Postal Message Service), and the Indian Red Cross Message Service. with lists of permissible and prohibited articles. Part Three covers Evacuees including letters, Employment Registration, Savings Bank Accounts, Monetary Advances, claims from Malayan and Burma evacuees, and Burma Cash Certificates.
