India after 2014: A Decade of Building Viksit Bharat's Operating System at a Billion-People Scale

India After 2014 by Pankaj Srivastava is a data-driven account of India's governance transformation, covering the period from May 2014 to March 2026.

The book examines nearly 40 flagship government schemes (out of 700+ launched) across 11 sectors, including Financial Inclusion, Sanitation, Manufacturing, Agriculture, Housing, Energy, Healthcare, Digital Infrastructure, Skills, Infrastructure, and Social Security. Each chapter follows a consistent analytical framework: 2014 baseline conditions, measurable progress as of 2025-26, and a critical assessment of what worked, what did not, and where gaps remain.

Drawing on official government portals, parliamentary records, Union Budget and Economic Survey data, PIB releases, and multilateral datasets such as the World Bank and WHO, the author brings over twenty-five years of strategy and transformation consulting experience to frame India's journey as more than a collection of schemes. Instead, it is presented as the evolution of a governance "operating system" for a billion-plus people.

The book offers a structured, evidence-based perspective on India's development trajectory over this period. Balanced in its approach, it highlights both achievements and unresolved challenges, making it a valuable resource for policymakers, researchers, practitioners, and informed readers.
