An Industrious Art Innovation in Pattern & Print At the Fabric Workshop

It is indeed an "industrious art" that The Fabric Workshop has innovated-as the first retrospective edition documents with ingenuity and lively scholarship. From the narratives of the workshop's founding and remarkable growth to commentary on its art-historical precedents and instructive descriptions of its procedural techniques, the full story told by curators and museum directors is in these pages, along with over two hundred stunning color and black-and-white illustrations of the works and their creators. Documenting fourteen years of pioneering adventure, during which painters, sculptors, architects, photographers, and ceramists have ventured bend their familiar pursuits to boldly reshape and redefine the boundaries of art. An Industrious Art, like the organization it chronicles, is a pioneering work of extraordinary significance.
