Synopsis
Widespread violence and disorder have left the world without clear solutions. Human beings are killed daily at alarming rates, while corporations exploit the planet’s natural resources without accountability, accelerating the destruction of an already fragile ecosystem. In its pursuit of extreme individualism, humanity has lost its sense of unity and the cohesion once found in the family structure. The narrative argues that true reform is impossible unless a power greater than mankind intervenes and forces change.
That turning point arrives when a young woman is found raped and beaten to death at a remote shelter in Maine, signaling to Kelly that transformation can no longer be delayed. Kelly and his family are not ordinary human beings; they are willing to risk everything—including their own lives and the fate of the planet—to confront humanity’s destructive behavior. The story emphasizes that thought defines identity and action, yet mankind remains incapable of changing its way of thinking on its own.
Committed entirely to transformation, the Winston family prepares to leave world powers with no alternative but reform. Consisting of five men and seven women, they refuse compromise in their mission to end humanity’s violence. Though they claim no desire to cause suffering, they are prepared to take extreme measures to impose peace on an anarchic world. This contradiction—seeking love and global harmony through force—underscores the story’s central critique of human nature and the moral cost of redemption.
About the Author
Since he was a teen, the author has wanted to write an enjoyable Saturday and Sunday afternoon novel, that one might read on the weekend. To achieve his dream, he took creative writing courses at Universities like the University of Maine in Orono, Maine, and Burlington Community College in Vermont. However, it wouldn't be for years after college when he would write Inescapable Desires, For the Love of Peace, and Elapsing into Love. This series started because of his concern for the violence, crime, and the killing of our planet that happens on a daily basis. It was everyday life that was the invisible force driving him to write these three novels. After receiving an honorable discharge from the United States Navy, his accomplishments in the military were huge. From being a recipient of a Coast Guard Meritorious Unit Commendation for participating in drug operations in the Caribbean, to two letters of Appreciation from the USS Forrestal (CVN-59). After the Navy, he spent years backpacking the Appalachian Trail, the Pacific Crest Trail, the Long Trail in Vermont, and the International Appalachian Trail that wanders into Canada. The author has even hiked in the mountains of Norway. To date, he has backpacked well over 14,000 miles across the United States. Today, he spends his time with his Coonhound (Birch) and his vegetable garden in the backyard. His fourth novel in the Alpha series is expected in the spring of 2026.
