The Influence Of Metallic Tractors On The Human Body (1798)

""The Influence Of Metallic Tractors On The Human Body"" is a book written by Benjamin Douglas Perkins in 1798. The book explores the use of metallic tractors, which were small, pointed instruments made of brass or iron, in the treatment of various ailments. Perkins believed that these tractors could be used to draw out ""noxious fluids"" from the body and restore balance to the system. He claimed that the tractors could be applied to specific points on the body to treat a range of conditions, including rheumatism, gout, and even mental illness. The book includes descriptions of case studies and testimonials from patients who claimed to have been cured by the tractors. Perkins also includes detailed instructions for the use of the tractors, as well as illustrations of their application. While the use of metallic tractors was eventually discredited as a medical treatment, this book provides insight into the medical practices and beliefs of the late 18th century. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
