Information Theory and Coding. This item is unavailable.Information Theory and Coding

The aim of the book is to give an intense theoretical and practical knowledge in the subject of Information Theory and Coding, so that the students will have full idea of what is required in the industry in this particular area of information theory and coding. The theory and concepts explained in this book are practically tried out in many industry projects and research works by the author and are explained in the book elaborately. The material in this book is already taught to students for many years by the author; and the book is written with better understanding of the needs of the students and the practicing engineers in the subject. This book covers the whole syllabus on this subject for the 5th semester BE course in Electronics and Communication Engineering branch and 6th semester BE course in Telecommunication Engineering branch prescribed by the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), India, in an elaborate manner. This book is also suitable for students of many other universities in this subject. Large number of worked out examples are included to make the concepts very clear. The applications of this subject is brought out very clearly, so that the students can understand the importance of this subject in the real world applications and they will be industry ready to take up the work in this area.

One of the purposes of this book is to present the complex, mathematical oriented subject in a way that it can be understood and practiced only with a minimum mathematical background. The approach is to explain the subject material with minimum mathematical rigor and with an emphasis both on theory and practice. MATLAB simulated results are given in the form of graphs in many places. Topics beyond syllabus are also included for students who want to know more. This book will be a good reference for the industry persons and teaching faculty in this subject. Industry persons can acquire mathematical analysis knowledge in this field, to design a viable and cost effective system for their project and research work. The teaching faculty can impart both theoretical and practical oriented knowledge to the students with the help of this book.
