Mimeographed broadside leaflet, 8-/2 x 11 in. Bulletin board announcement of a screening of the 1964 documentary presented with speakers in support of the striking garment workers at the Farah pants manufacturer in El Paso, Texas. The strike, which lasted nearly two years and prompted a nationwide boycott, was signal event in the history of American labor, Chicano rights, and Women's rights. The vast majority of striking Chicano workers were women. "The Inheritance," was commissioned in 1964 by the Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America in celebration of its 50th anniversary. It offered a realistic view of the difficult lives of immigrant workers in the early twentieth century, directed by Harold Mayer, written by Millard Lampell, and narrated by Robert Ryan with music by folk singers Pete Seeger, The Weavers, Tom Paxton, and a young Judy Collins. among others. Evenly toned; discreet ink notation on rear.
