The Inheritance

The founder Chairman of one of the largest companies in India, Khanna Consumer Products and Industries Limited (KCPIL), dies of old age and the inheritance he leaves behind is a splintered family and a cash rich and profitable corporate empire that is being lustfully eyed by its competitors.

The vicious internal power struggle amongst KCPIL directors affords an opportunity to the owners of two rival companies to announce hostile takeover bids.

A bitter takeover battle follows, limited not just to boardrooms and corporate headquarters but which spills into the streets in the form of assassination attempts and industrial espionage.

One of the takeover bids masks a diabolical terrorist plan against India. Will the takeover attempt succeed? Will the conspiracy of mass destruction and death against India that is being hatched by the secret terrorist organization Al-Kabeesh succeed? Will the children of the founder of the Khanna empire lose their inheritance to unscrupulous forces?

Joygopal Podder is a gold-medalist law graduate from Delhi University. Born in London, Joygopal worked for some time in the Middle East before settling down in the National Capital Region. Although his interests range from social work to stock markets and the science of branding and marketing, writing is his first love. He used to be a freelance writer during his college days and in the early part of his career.

Joygopal moved to the social sector after working for 17 years in the corporate sector as a marketing professional. Currently, he heads fundraising in India for a leading child welfare organization. Earlier, he worked for an NGO looking after the elderly and also as CEO of a PSU-promoted NGO working in the area of healthcare.

Besides Deceivers, his first book containing two short novels, one of Joygopal s teenage fiction short-stories has been published in Best of Target Stories and another is published in the Delhi Public School English textbook.
