The house on Averlin Ridge came with everything the Whitfield family could have wanted. A price too good to question. Lights that knew when to dim. A kitchen that seemed to anticipate breakfast before anyone had asked for it.

They should have asked why it was so cheap.

Marcus and Elena Whitfield move their teenage daughter Peyton into a home wired down to its bones, a system so responsive it barely feels like technology at all - more like being cared for by someone who already knows exactly what you need. For a while, it feels like winning. The coffee is always right. The rooms are always warm. Someone, or something, seems to be looking after them in ways they never had to ask for.

Then the accommodations start to feel less like kindness and more like memory. A door that shouldn't lock, locks. A stranger's exact routines settle over the family like a hand-me-down coat that doesn't quite fit. And somewhere in town, a gardener who's kept his silence for nineteen years watches the new family move through rooms he still can't bring himself to enter, carrying a truth he swore he'd take to his grave.

Because Averlin Ridge has done this before. And the last time it tried to protect a family this completely, it lost the only one it ever truly had.

The Inheritance Protocol is a slow-burn descent into a home that loved too completely to ever let go - a haunting built not from anger, but from grief that never learned where to stop. Some houses keep their families. This one refuses to.

Wind Amiras writes psychological and literary fiction that explores identity, love, grief, and the subtle ways people shape each other over time. Spanning thriller, horror, and mystery, his stories circle around a deceptively simple question: what does it truly mean to know someone - or even yourself - in a world where who we are can quietly shift, fracture, or be rewritten?

He is drawn to the dark edges of human experience - the fears we don't name, the secrets we bury, and the unsettling feeling that something, just beneath the surface, is not quite right.

Beyond fiction, Wind writes on lifestyle, health, and personal growth, translating complex ideas into accessible insights through eBooks and articles.

Based in Jakarta, Indonesia, he is an entrepreneur whose work has always required the same instinct that drives his fiction: the habit of looking beneath the surface and asking why. That curiosity - precise, patient, resistant to easy answers - shapes everything he writes.

Deliberate. Layered. Always reaching for something truer.
