Innovative Teaching Methods and Learning Resources

This book presents various innovations in teaching and learning. The chapters are grouped into three sections: emerging technologies in teaching and learning, creative teaching methods and learning resource, and new trends and experiences in education and educational management. Topics discussed in the book include virtual learning environments, learning management systems, educational/serious games and software, digital technologies and resources for learning, assistive technologies and accessible resources, game-based learning and gamification, blended learning and flipped classroom, education practice trends and issues, inclusive learning, cultural diversity and special education, and creativity and design thinking. This book serves as a useful resource for researchers and practitioners working in the field of education.

Dr. Maiga Chang is Associate Dean (research and innovation) and Full Professor in the School of Computing and Information Systems at Athabasca University, Canada. He is also Honorary Chair Professor at Multidisciplinary Academic Research Center, National Dong Hwa University, Taiwan. Dr. Chang has been Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers’ (IEEE) Member for twenty-six years since 1996 and is now Senior Member. He has been appointed as IEEE Computer Society Distinguished Visitor on artificial intelligence (AI) and Chatbots from 2023 to 2025. Dr. Chang’s research mainly focuses on areas such as game-based learning, training and assessment, learning behavior analysis, learning analytics and academic analytics, intelligent agent technology, health informatics, data mining, computational intelligence, natural language processing, artificial intelligence, museum education mobile learning and ubiquitous learning, and healthcare technology. 

Dr. Chang is Vice President (2022~) of the International Association of Smart Learning Environments (IASLE).
